Barna Knocknacarra Rugby Club or Na Bairneachaí was established in 2007 to bring Mini Rugby to Galway City and its environs west of the Corrib. The club first registration took place during the Rugby world cup and resulted in 40 players at ages from U9s to U12s. In 2013 the club has a player base of well over 100 at levels U8 to U12.
The Club Jersey was launched on Saturday the 17th of November with Eric Elwood, Brett Wilkinson and Conor O Loughlin handing out jerseys and staying for Photographs.
Training is held every Saturday Morning from September to April in McGraths field Knocknacarra. Training for U7s and U8s is from 10.30 to 11.30 and for other age groups from 10.30 till 12.00. There is also training on Wednesday evenings from September to April in St. Mary's College for U12s. This training is from 7pm to 8.30 pm.
